This page gives general information in simple words. It is not advice for your own case. What is right for you depends on your examination and your reports. Your doctor will explain your options and you decide.
Common questions
Do I need a scan?
Not always. The doctor will examine you first and tell you if a scan is needed, then go through the report with you and explain what it shows.
Will I need an operation for knee pain?
Most knee pain is treated without surgery: medicine, physiotherapy exercises and changes to daily movement. Surgery is only for cases that do not improve.
Is laser treatment available for pain?
A Class IV therapy laser is used here alongside physiotherapy for some joint and muscle pain. It is applied on the skin and needs no rest afterwards. Your doctor will say whether it suits your problem.
How long does plaster stay on?
It depends on which bone is broken and on your age. The doctor will tell you the date for removal at the time the plaster is put on.
Not sure which doctor you need?
Call the front desk. Tell them your problem in your own words and they will tell you which doctor to see, and when to come.
