This page gives general information in simple words. It is not advice for your own case. What is right for you depends on your examination and your reports. Your doctor will explain your options and you decide.

Common questions

What does laparoscopic surgery actually mean?

The surgeon makes two or three cuts, each about the size of a small coin. A thin camera goes in through one cut and the instruments through the others. The surgeon watches on a screen while operating.

Is it suitable for everyone?

No. It depends on the problem, on earlier operations you may have had, and on your general health. Your surgeon will examine you and say whether it is possible in your case.

Will there be a scar?

There will be two or three small marks instead of one long one. They usually fade over months.

Does it cost more than normal surgery?

It can differ. Ask for the full estimate in writing at the time of planning, so there is no confusion later.

Not sure which doctor you need?

Call the front desk. Tell them your problem in your own words and they will tell you which doctor to see, and when to come.
