A small device holds the skin and cuts and closes it in one step, using a ring of fine staples instead of hand stitches. Time on the operating table is shorter and the dressing is smaller.

What happens, step by step
- You are given anaesthesia for the area
- A ring device is placed and the stapler cuts and closes in one action
- A light dressing is applied
- You rest and then go home, usually the same day
How many days it takes

Procedure and a few hours of rest. Most patients go home the same day.

Swelling is normal. Keep the area dry and take the medicines given.

Most normal activity is resumed. Your surgeon will give you the exact dates.
After you go home
- Keep the area clean and dry
- Wear loose cotton clothes
- Do not lift heavy weight until the surgeon allows it
